How it works

Program structure

This is an intensive program that is virtual and self-paced.

By the end of the program, you will have:

Produced a market-entry strategy for Australia

Begun testing or implementing your strategy

Built an initial local network in Australia

Connected with potential partners and customers

APPLICATIONS

Submit your application before the deadline. All applications will be reviewed carefully. We may reach out to you to schedule an interview if there is potential.

PROGRAM

‍This is a self-paced program. You will have the flexibility to set your own mentoring session times, engage with content tailored to your needs, and complete milestones to unlock valuable benefits and introductions. We’ll keep you accountable and on track to hit your goals.

POST-PROGRAM SUPPORT

‍Your journey doesn’t end when the program ends. Keep the conversation going with your mentors, peers and connections. Your mentors will continue to work on supporting you and reaching your goals as defined during the program after the virtual program has concluded.

What are the selection criteria?

We consider a wide variety of factors and assess based on your market potential in Australia, team, sales and/or funding track record, potential to attract Australian government grants (if applicable) and your intention to establish in Australia.

What is the time commitment?

This program consists of 2 group calls and two individual mentoring sessions (approx. 45 minutes each). Participants are expected to spend their own time outside of the program to complete their market expansion strategy and to prepare any other materials in preparation for their mentoring sessions.

There is also a series of education workshop recordings that you are able to access at any time. These are not compulsory and are there to supplement your knowledge.

You are expected to complete the program within the span of 6 weeks.

Are there any program costs? Will you take equity?

The program is 100% free and sponsored by City of Sydney. We do not take equity.

Is the program 100% virtual?

Yes, the program is completely virtual. All workshop content is also recorded and uploaded. There are optional in-country components following the virtual program.

Is this program only for tech companies?

No. SLP is open to companies of all sizes and industries. For any questions about eligibility, please get in touch with us.

How will you accomodate time differences?

We endeavour to schedule all sessions at a time that is accessible to all participants. All sessions are recorded and made available for viewing. 1-on-1 mentoring sessions are booked individually.
